Evgeny Lebedev
Evgeny Lebedev is the winner of the international jazz competition in Belgium, a prize-winner of the piano competition in Montreux (Switzerland) and the Made In New York Jazz Competition (USA), a graduate of Berklee College of Music. Being an active concert musician, Evgeny is also a member of the Moscow Union of Composers and a teacher at the Igor Butman Jazz Academy.
The musician took part in the largest jazz festivals in the world:
North Sea Jazz, Jazz Masters (Netherlands), Jazz a Juan (France), Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival, Tanglewood Jazz Festival (USA), Jazz Hoeilaart, Brussels Jazz Weekend (Belgium). He collaborated with jazz stars like: Jack DeJohnette, Marcus Miller, Lenny White, Randy Brecker, David Sanchez, Joe Lovano, David Fiuczynski, Kenwood Denard, Terri Lyne Carrington, George Garzone. In 2021 Evgeny Lebedev became the first among jazz pianists to become a Yamaha Artist in Russia.
Currently, Evgeny performs mainly as part of the LRK Trio, together with bassist Anton Revnyuk and drummer Ignat Kravtsov. The ensemble has entered the ranks of the most exported Russian jazz bands: their tour routes have taken them to Belgium, the Netherlands, Poland, Estonia, Switzerland, the USA, Japan, South Korea, Norway, Portugal, plus performances at many Russian festivals and concert venues.
Most of the trio's music is original. It is written by all three members of the ensemble. In 2017, the trio released their first international album, "If You Have a Dream," which immediately received good press around the world. In Russia, the album "If You Have a Dream" was released by Butman Music Records, and on the world market it is represented by the Norwegian label Losen Records. The album was named "Jazz Album of the Year" by the Russian Union of Music Critics, was featured in the list of recommended recordings by the European Jazz Media Chart, and then brought the Russian ensemble a Special Jury Award in the Made in New York jazz competition.
LRK Trio is not an ordinary jazz trio with a pianist. And it's not even about the fact that it is an open line-up, with which, depending on the creative tasks being solved, a string quartet, and invited soloists - singers, instrumentalists, entire ensembles - can appear on stage.
And it’s not that Lebedev plays not only the piano in the ensemble, but also electronic keyboards and the accordion, Revnyuk is one of the few jazz bassists in the country who plays both the acoustic double bass and the electric bass guitar at an equally high creative level, and Kravtsov brings many of the most modern timbre effects and rhythmic ideas to the sound of the drum kit. The fact is that the trio, while remaining on the solid foundation of jazz art, organically combines elements of many other types of music in their music - both academic and modern. Their music is not simple, but this is not complexity for the sake of complexity, it is simply great skill in the implementation of bright musical ideas.
And these ideas are dominated by a generous melodic richness that does not allow the listener to forget that the ensemble from Russia is playing, whose music is based on the rich heritage of Russian musical culture - a heritage that continues to influence the development of music around the world to this day. LRK Trio is a very modern group: their music is not museum-like, it always sounds like music of the twenty-first century, but stands on a powerful foundation of world-famous Russian musical culture, organically woven into the world scene, but not losing its own face.

Alina Polyakova
Alina Polyakova is a passionate music researcher and a big fan of jazz. Her long-standing interest in improvisation, jazz harmony and rhythms one day turned into a real path of search - knowledge, sound, freedom.
Alina graduated from the Faculty of Journalism of St. Petersburg State University, studied theater arts in New York, studied English philology, and also took courses in osteopathy and dietetics. But it was music that became what unites all her hobbies - through feelings, rhythm and live communication.
At the beginning of 2024, Alina opened the jazz club Inter view - an atmospheric space where not only music sounds. Also creative meetings, lectures, film screenings are held here - all as a symbol of the freedom to be yourself and love for living art.
Here Alina interviews interesting personalities. One of the guests was Evgeny Lebedev.
In the summer of the same year, Alina approached the pianist Evgeny Lebedev with the idea of taking lessons from him. There was no time for individual lessons, but an idea was born to create an educational course that would allow everyone to touch Evgeny’s unique style and complete the training easily, with interest and inspiration.

Quotes about the course
I thank Evgeny Lebedev for useful and motivating jazz piano lessons! This is a rare case when an amazing author and performer with a powerful musical background also turns out to be a talented teacher.
He solves any problems and tasks that you turn to him with in a comprehensive manner: he gives life hacks that you can use right here and now, and at the same time “repairs the foundation” - works with thinking and pays special attention to awareness during improvisation.
What I especially like is that he teaches you to be a researcher, not a parrot: not to copy phrases and techniques of great jazz musicians, but to analyze other people's music, creatively comprehend it and create something new every time you play a solo. This makes the learning process not only effective, but also truly exciting!
I would like to separately note the friendly atmosphere during classes: Evgeniy notes strengths and progress, supports self-confidence, and criticizes very tactfully and gently (so musicians with a delicate mental organization definitely come here!)
I recommend Evgeniy to all improvising instrumentalists who dream of expanding their horizons and finding a new source of inspiration in the routine of daily classes.

There are good musicians.
There are good teachers.
And there is Evgeny Lebedev - an excellent teacher and musician.
And this amazing person, Evgeny Lebedev, in just a few lessons brought back my love for the piano and jazz music.
The first month I bombarded him with absolutely different questions, and he had answers to all of them. Not "excuses", but clear instructions on what and how to do to achieve the set goal. This applies to both modern jazz music and classical jazz.
Each lesson is a very strong charge of motivation, because it differs from the traditional "everything is bad, I need to practice". I want to reach for a person who is constantly doing something himself, creating wonderful music, regularly performing in Russia and abroad. Now I am very happy when
I play something, when something works out. Many theoretical gaps have already been filled, and there is never too much practice. Let's keep working, thank you!

Evgeny is not only a teacher, but also a concert musician and composer. I think this affects the way he conducts classes: exercises for the sake of "keeping things in order" are not his thing. Weaknesses are identified, tasks are set and quite specific, but everything is done using the example of certain topics and within the musical fabric, the main priority is music, and nothing else. From Zhenya you can get an answer to any question that a pianist can ask a pianist, and the classes are held in a relaxed friendly atmosphere, so they bring results, pleasure, and fresh ideas in improvisations, and all this together increases motivation.
Anna
Almost everyone who has studied with Evgeny Lebedev involuntarily mentions the teaching talent of Evgeny Lebedev. And for good reason.
For me, Evgeny Lebedev's lessons are always about calm, confidence and acceptance of music in oneself. And also the removal of psychological barriers, so popular among musicians at all stages of training. It may sound pompous, but in many ways this is the point. When you find some point of inner harmony, then musical harmony becomes easier to understand. I especially like how Evgeny achieves understanding from the student. Complex chord constructions and modes become clear, and this stimulates studying them with great interest. And the delicate attitude to rhythm that Evgeny tactfully instills stays with you for a long time.
And of course, to reformat our internal "I play wrong" into "I can do even better", in my opinion, requires great pedagogical skill and an extraordinary approach.

I have always been skeptical about webinars, but this video changed my life!

In general, what I liked - without unnecessary theoretical burden, Evgeniy showed many techniques that will allow you to revive and diversify improvisation in those cases when you are already sick of your phrases and there is a feeling that you are at a dead end. I recommend it to everyone who is looking!"
Yulia
It was great! And fun!
In just half an hour I learned a lot of useful information that helped me really advance in my studies on the instrument.
Thank you again for the wonderful master class!
And good luck in all your endeavors and continuations!
